Fair use, and the rest of the rules

Fair use

The Conservative Bugler is an aggregator and a reading desk. For third-party work we display a headline, the source, the author when the feed provides one, a short excerpt of about 100 words, a thumbnail when the publisher supplied one, and a link to the original. We do not copy or host full articles, full episodes, or social-media threads. Excerpts are for identification, indexing, and commentary. All third-party text, images, audio, and marks remain the property of their owners.

We aim to be a central access point for every conservative voice in the United States. Contributors benefit from this desk, because every card sends the reader directly to the source. We are with you, and we are for you.

Pieces labeled TCB Editorial are original work written and published by The Conservative Bugler. Those essays are not excerpts.

We organize third-party headlines by source and topic. We do not rewrite a headline to change its meaning, and we do not claim editorial control over the underlying reporting. Automated topic tags are keyword labels, not a judgment on the piece.

To report a copyright concern, a correction, a fair-use objection, or a takedown request, email tcbeditor@proton.me. Include the card link and the original URL. We review those notes promptly and remove a card when the use is not justified.

No full articles

The database behind this desk, when a card is stored at all, keeps metadata: title, source, time, author when provided, a short excerpt, a thumbnail address, topic labels, and the outbound link. It does not keep the article. Thumbnails are loaded from the publisher when your browser requests the card. We do not warehouse the picture files.

Platform, not a rewrite desk

The Conservative Bugler operates as an interactive computer service that organizes material published by other outlets, offices, and shows. Headlines and excerpts arrive from public feeds. We do not author that reporting. A report button on each card emails the editor. We may remove a card that is unlawful, that a rights holder has objected to, or that is clearly mislabeled. Removal of a card is a response to a report, not an endorsement of the remaining items.

The Morning Call

If you subscribe, we store your email on the server that runs this site so the note can be sent. We do not sell the list. To leave it, email tcbeditor@proton.me. Until a mail provider is connected, the signup is stored for the editor and is not yet a finished newsletter product.

Accounts and the later paid desk

There is no paid subscription in this version. The planned ad-free desk is $3.99 a month and will cover a quieter page, saved sources, and bookmarks that are not stuck on one device. Bookmarks you set now stay in this browser only. We do not take card numbers here.

Advertising and measurement

The AdSense loader and the Google Analytics tag are included on every page. A labeled advertisement is reserved after every six cards, and one sits below Sources. Those spaces fill when an ad unit is connected. The later ad-free desk removes them. Analytics are for understanding the desk, not for sale of personal data.
